Grouplove, and my favorite song

I’ve been into Grouplove for a little over a year now (lollapollooza 2011 looked awesome…) and haven’t got tired of them in the slightest. Alot of people have probably heard of them by now, considering their single ‘Tongue Tied’ has reached the top 40 charts. (An ironically tragic event for indie fans). That aside, they have one whole album full of passionate, melodically up-beat songs including my favorite: Colours.  I feel like this video is their most artistic effort as a band. I love it! If you liked this one, check out’ Lovely cup’ from the same album : Never Trust a Happy Song.Grouplove: Colours

Mojo as an art form.

My tag for the past few years is called Mojo. It’s like a compulsion to have to write and draw this on everything I see. Colors and designs are going throughout my brain every minute of the day. Unfortunately most of my pictures of these are on my phone. but soon, I’ll upload some of my artwork. Just remember if you ever see Mojo, it was me…Image

MBWs work may be questioned but it is cool nonetheless

Ives Street

Mr. BrainwashThe infamous Mr. Brainwash in London. Is a super genius Banksy spin off? Is he a complete fraud? I am guessing it is a little bit in the grey. Thoughts?

It’s hard for me to admit he is a complete copycat, he admits with his own name he very well might just be brainwashed. If I didn’t know any better I would say he represents a banksy-esc comment on street art itself. But what do I know.

Last Dinosaurs are killer

I Quite Like Gigs

They’ve been floating around since 2008 but since storming the Aussie music scene, Last Dinosaurs have hit British shores and are bringing their indie summerpop with them.

They’re comprised of 2 brothers & 2 friends from Brisbane, Queensland and soon rose to critical acclaim from the likes of Triple J and whothehell.net following the release of 2009 EP Back From The Dead and appearances at various festivals & support slots worldwide.

Since then, they’ve released debut album In A Million Years in March this year through their signing to Dew Process that, along with the singles, thundered into the Top 10 peaking at #2 digitally. Now they’re set to release the album over here & in the rest of Europe following a 10 date UK tour next month and juding by their success overseas, this lot are definetely ones to look out for.

Thornton Wilder’s Timeless Classic: Our Town

I just got finished reading the 3 act play Our Town (Daily Life, Love And Marraige, and Death) written by American Author, Thornton Wilder in 1938. It was so enlightening. If you haven’t read this book recently it’s worth another shot. He does a great job of building up a small town lifestyle of people with dreams and ambitions trapped in Grover’s Corners. People come and go through out the firts two acts in wide eyed curiosity of themselves, going about day-to-day . Act three ripped me to shreads.

One of the main characters dies in childbirth, and is talking with the other deceased about their life on earth. They tell her about how the dead can re-live their lives ( something she was yearning to do), but watch themselves in the process. (“You not only live it; you watch yourself living it.”) They strain to entice her to refrain from revisiting her past and do finally convince her to seek out an unimportant day.

She realizes it was a dreadfulk error, and she immediatley regrets her decision. She talks to a fore mentioned character in one of the previous acts, a drunken chior master who assumedly ended his life in a drunken suicide. He harshly scolds her to the Idea that we waste life as we live it, Human existence is only ignorence and blindness.

He said in reply to her “i should have listened to them”

“Yes, now you know. Now you know! That’s what it was to be alive. To move about in a cloud of ignorance; to go up and down trampling on the feelings of those…those about you. To spend and waste time as though you had a million years. To be always at the merc of one self-centered passion, or another. Now you know-that’s the happy existence you wanted to go back to. Ignorance and blindness.”

So basically Live your life with GREAT APPRECIATION. It’s wonderful.

Their Live performances

Their Live performances

ImageThis band is SO good, their mellow, spacey rythms and nostalgic lyrics are ill. They compliment that scene, with bands like Arcade Fire and the Killers. The video here is live, but check them out on Pandora! Congratulations, Kids, Electric Feel, and Time to Pretend are my favorites.
